RM: Jay Z, Renegade ft. Eminem

When Jay-Z made The Blueprint he planned on being the only person on the album. When he heard Eminem’s verse on “Renegade,” he knew he had to make one exception.

RM: Dr. Dre + Snoop Dogg, Nuthin’ But A G Thang

One is making hundreds of millions from headphones, the other is now a Lion instead of a Dogg, but first they were G’s.

RP: Paula Abdul, Opposites Attract

We have not posted a Ripened Pick in awhile, so we had to come strong with this one.

In this song, Paula Abdul shows that she shares the same fears of gay marriage as Mitt Romney. The video foreshadows a frightening world where gays are allowed to marry, opening the door for women and rapping cats to openly display their love. If Obama is reelected, it’s only a matter of time until this becomes reality.

RM: DJ Premier, Rakim, Kanye West, Nas, KRS-One, Classic

I was hanging in the tattoo parlor early today when this song came on, and it truly is a classic. This will always be a hot pick, so enjoy this ripened track.

RM: Montell Jordan, This is How We Do It

Some ripened music circa 1995. Some of my favorite comments when finding this video on youtube, “This is the best white person friendly rap song ever,” and another comment that points out that the dude @:47 seconds in looks like Tyler the Creator. Anyways, enjoy this classic!

RM: Earth, Wind and Fire, Let’s Groove

This is a little before my time, but a ton of big name artists, such as Kanye West and Jay-Z, credit Earth, Wind and Fire as inspiring their music. It’s no surprise, I can see some of the things they are doing still being done all these years later.

RM: Billy Joel, You May Be Right

I agree with this guy, 80′s Joel does suck! Let’s listen to some of that rock and roll Billy Joel!

RM: Lauryn Hill feat. Nas, If I Ruled the World

FreshPicked Tax Evading Lauryn Hill.

RM15: The Whispers, Rock Steady

Whoever said black guys can dance, never watched The Whispers try to break it down.  Anyways, it’s an awesome song and can be found on their greatest hits collection.

RM14: Phil Colins, Something happened on the way to Heaven

Found this while wondering around on youtube. Whoever thought to combine Phil Collins and Magnum P.I. is a freakin genius.

RM13: Doc Watson, Deep River Blues

RIP, Doc Watson (1923-2012).

RM12: Will Smith, Summertime

Happy Memorial day! Summer has unofficially begun and the Fresh Prince of Bell-Air knows it. Also, Men in Black 3 just came out.

RM11: Lil Rob, Summer Nights

When the temperatures starts climbing I always have to listen to this song just once. This ripened video for “Summer Nights” by Lil Rob was a fresh picked hit back in 2006.
